Carat – A Benchmark for Die Casting
The high-performance two platen Die Casting Machine is considered to be the benchmark for the pro-duction of castings of medium to high complexity as well as for structural components. Thanks to its three basic models, Lean for low weights with large surface areas, Compact for standard castings and Extended for thick-walled parts with small surface areas, the Carat is well-suited for nearly any application. The Carat closing unit is striking in its performance thanks to minimum warping thus guaranteeing a high degree of dimensional accuracy of castings. The Carat is available in 13 sizes, ranging from 10,500 to 44,000 kN closing force.

Structural Components for Reducing CO2
Within the automobile industry, manufacturing vehicles using lightweight constructions and components is a major criterion for reducing CO2 emissions. According to tests conducted a reduction of 100 kg weight results in a reduction of 8.5 grams of CO2 per kilometer driven.
