Empowering Success – with Bühler

01/18/2012 Uzwil – Bühler will present its latest developments in the industry at EUROGUSS 2012, the International Trade Fair for Die Casting Technology, Processes, and Products. At the forefront are the subjects of energy efficiency in foundries, the capacity of the Carat Two-Platen technology, as well as Structural, the approach for cost-effective manufacturing of structural components. Using the motto "Empowering Success", Bühler will demonstrate how systematic implementation of solutions increases the power of success. Using energy-efficient production, foundries contribute to preserving resources and protecting the environment while profiting from reduced production costs. The efficient use of energy is a central issue for Bühler. As one of the leading technology partners for the die casting industry worldwide, Bühler supports its customers with modern systems and production techniques as well as providing valuable consulting services for continuous and trouble-free operation. Bühler continues to set standards in terms of productivity, energy efficiency or finding the right solutions for manufacturing structural components.

Reaching Our Potential in the Area of Energy Efficiency
The potential for optimizing in order to conserve energy exists in every manufacturing process. Any improvement, both large and small, will help to increase cost effectiveness. A systematic approach, well-founded knowledge of the process and comprehensive perspectives are the key to successful implementation. As the leading provider of die casting solutions, Bühler offers a wide range of possibilities to increase energy efficiency. Customers have the option to seek expert advice in order to reach their potential.

Carat – A Benchmark for Die Casting
The high-performance two platen Die Casting Machine is considered to be the benchmark for the pro-duction of castings of medium to high complexity as well as for structural components. Thanks to its three basic models, Lean for low weights with large surface areas, Compact for standard castings and Extended for thick-walled parts with small surface areas, the Carat is well-suited for nearly any application. The Carat closing unit is striking in its performance thanks to minimum warping thus guaranteeing a high degree of dimensional accuracy of castings. The Carat is available in 13 sizes, ranging from 10,500 to 44,000 kN closing force.

Structural Components for Reducing CO2
Within the automobile industry, manufacturing vehicles using lightweight constructions and components is a major criterion for reducing CO2 emissions. According to tests conducted a reduction of 100 kg weight results in a reduction of 8.5 grams of CO2 per kilometer driven. With its "Structural" approach, Bühler supports its customers in the development and production of structural components. This unique package of services comprises the design of optimum process management in addition to supplying customized systems engineering and support in designing parts and dies. This comprehensive approach is rounded off with on-site implementation, during which local Bühler experts pay special attention to the training of the users.

Bühler is a global leader in process technology, particularly for production technologies and services for the manufacture of foodstuffs and technical materials. Bühler operates in over 140 countries and has a staff of about 7,860 employees worldwide. During fiscal year 2010, the company generated sales revenues of CHF 1,907 million.
