GIFA 2011: Bühler Sets New Standards10/14/2011 Bühler set a new course at the International Foundry Trade Fair (GIFA) in Düsseldorf that concluded with a record number of visitors. Using the slogan of “Empowering Success”, Bühler presented itself as the fore-runner in the industry with the Carat and Structural series. Bühler showed that sustainable use of energy and resources has increased in importance for die casting, which was rather fitting, given the slogan of the trade fair: energy efficiency. 79,000 visitors from 83 different countries visited the GIFA 2011 between June 28th and July 2nd, and many of them also stopped by Bühler’s booth of 620 m2. With a Carat die casting machine and the “Structural” process, our approach to cost-effective manufacturing of structural components, Bühler showed what the future looks like for the production of highly integrated light-weight components. The success of this approach was underscored by the sale of our 100th Carat 2-platen die casting machine in July. In terms of the capacity to be innovative, experts in the field were taken by surprise with Bühler’s new approach of Lost Core-Technology. Bühler keeps the economic advantages of die casting and expands your capability to produce parts with Lost Cores. Parts that were not previously possible in die casting can be developed with thinner cross sections, shorter cycle times, complex part geometry, and less post processing.
For Bühler, “Empowering Success” means to build on the success of the GIFA, to deepen the know-how in the area of energy efficiency, and to guarantee the highest quality in die casting.
